Distance Learner
Welcome to Pre-Kindergarten!
This is the magical place where four and five year old children come together to learn, laugh and maximize their potential. We have created an environment, which invites children to be successful and develop the love to be a life-long learner. Our children learn through exploration and play. The language arts and math programs have many different resources and materials to help each child develop at their own pace. Each week we will also create many beautiful works of art, sing, and use our imaginations.

"What's Happening in the Herd?"
June 4, 2021 "You scream, I scream, We all scream for ice cream!!" This week, the children enjoyed sharing some of their favorite summer activities, listening to fictional and non-fiction books about summer, as well as painting, coloring, and playing with play-dough!! It's hard to believe we only have 1.5 days left being together!! In math centers this week, the students subitized raindrops and colored by number. They also completed several number slides (missing numerals), and used dice to count on from a target number. In Literacy centers, the children practiced sight-word recognition for two, produced rhymes, and counted syllables. They also completed several Write around the Room CVC activities where they read and picked out the correct word to match a picture clue, in addition to continuing to practice tapping out CVC words in order to spell them and identifying the medial sounds in CVC words. In writing this week, the students continued reviewing correct formation of letters & numbers! Please review the letters and sounds we have taught: Letter and Sound Review Link Ll - lamp - /l/, Ff - fun - /f/, Ee - edge - /e/, Hh - hat - /h/, Tt - top - /t/, Ii - itch - /i/, Uu - up - /u/, Cc - cat - /c/, Oo - octopus - /o/, Qq - queen - /q/, Gg - game - /g/, Ss - snake - /s/, Jj - jug - /j/, Dd - dog - /d/, Pp - pan - /p/, Bb - bat - /b/, Rr - rat - /r/, Kk - kite - /k/, Aa - apple - /a/, Mm - man - /m/, Nn - nut - /n/, Vv - van - /v/, Ww - wind - /w/, Xx - fox - /ks/, Yy - yellow - /y/, Zz - zebra - /z/ "It's always a great day to be an STS Pre-K Titan!!" |
